Mandarin Oranges Two Ways: Mulled Orange & Sparkling Hibiscus Orange Refresher



Serves 6 Each

 

Ingredients

For The Syrup:

Water, 4 cups

Sugar, 2 cups

Mandarin Oranges, 4 medium, sliced

 

Directions

Place water, sugar and oranges into a saucepan, heat to boiling, then turn off the heat and let sit for 30 – 60 minutes.  Strain the slices out.

 

For the Mulled Orange

Add 1 cup of syrup, 1 cup and water and 2 mulling spices tea bag to a sauce pan.  Heat until boiling.  Turn off and let steep for 2 minutes.  Enjoy hot.

 

For the Sparkling Orange Hibiscus Refresher

Add 1 part hibiscus tea and 1 part orange syrup to your sparkling beverage bottle.  Refrigerate until cold then fizz and enjoy with sliced oranges.  (I used Breville's InFizz Fusion which allows me to carbonate anything, not just water. If you don't have this then you'll have to make a concentrate of tea and syrup and add sparkling water to it.)
